Pastor R. I. Sampson, Jr. 

 

Rev. R. I. Sampson, Jr.  is the son of Dr. Reuben I. Sampson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Linda M. Sampson. Rev. Sampson was a "miracle baby!" God told Dr. Reuben I. Sampson, Sr. that he was a boy and that he was a preacher and to name him, Reuben Immanuel Sampson, Jr.. Rev. Sampson is a fourth generation preacher paternally and a third generation preacher maternally. 

 

He confessed his call to the ministry in the Fall of 1997. He preached his first public sermon New Year's Eve 1998. Rev. Sampson was licensed to preach the gospel shortly thereafter. He served as Assistant Dean at Light Bible Institute and was an instructor there as well. His formal ministry training was done in the Ministry Development Institute under the tutelage of his father, Dr. Reuben I. Sampson, Sr.. 

 

His formal education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's Degree in School Administration both from Prairie View A & M University. He is general classroom teacher, principal and superintendent certified in the state of Texas. Rev. Sampson has been a classroom teacher, basketball coach, mentored aspiring administrators and former students, assistant principal and community supporter.  Along with being a preacher/pastor, he serves as principal of Robert E. Lee Elementary School. 

 

Rev. Sampson was appointed Assistant Pastor of Golden Triangle Christian Fellowship Church and ordained on October 31, 1999. During this time, he served in various capacities. This includes and is not limited too, community liaison, director of advertising, Back to School Program Coordinator, drummer, praise team leader, video editor for "Hope For Your Future" broadcast, and director of Audio ministry. He started the Lamar University Bible Study and then began "Kingdom Explosion Crusades." He was elected Pastor by the Board of Directors of GTCFC in October of 2007. 

 

We are grateful for the ministry of Rev. Sampson. He seeks to spread the message of the gospel, which is, " Jesus Saves, Jesus Heals, Jesus Prospers!" He continuously seeks opportunities to "Build Godly Generations with the Word of Faith."
